C%lVf Y Y \ IVE'W'S Volume 4 High Point, North Carolina, Friday, May 10, 1946 Number 20 R P E N T E 100% VOTE AT MILL NO. 10 DECIDES 185 TO 125 AGAINST UNION In a 100% ballot that represent ed the wishes of every person present and eligible to vote, Tom linson folks at Mill No. 10 yester day decided overwhelmingly that they did not v/ant the Carpenters’ union to represent them. Rather? they prefer to keep their relation ships with our Company as they have been. Voting started at 7:30 in the morning and continued until 11 o’clock. Shortly before noon the tally was announced—185 votes “No” AGAINST the Carpenters, 125 votes “Yes” FOR the Carpen ters. “Every eligible Tomlinson em ployee, excepting those absent on account of illness or on business, went to the polls!” said William A. Tomlinson, executive vice presi dent. “This is a splendid manifes tation of the grand spirit of Tom linson people. “Such a sincere interest is rare indeed in our United States. “And this • will do a lot to help ‘keep Tomlinson jobs the best jobs.’ ” Official checkers at the polling -■. booths were: FOR TOMLINSON— Maude Carraway Mildred Rutledge V.
